The first Romanian, and the youngest climber in the world that has reached this peak

Românca Crina Coco Popescu, în vârstă de doar 14 ani, a reuşit să-şi înfigă colţarii şi pioleţii pe vârful celui mai înalt vulcan din lume, Ojos del Salado (6.893 m), devenind astfel atât prima româncă, cât şi cea mai tânără alpinistă din lume care a ajuns pe acest vârf. Performanţa adolescentei a avut loc pe 28 decembrie 2008, în cadrul unei expediţii din Râşnov.Deşi a plecat de la tabăra avansată de la 5.800 de metri însoţită de doi alpinişti români, Radu Teodorescu şi Daniela Teodor, Coco a fost nevoită să încheie traseul de una singură, în urma abandonului celor doi.

Romanian Coco Crina Popescu, aged just 14 years, and managed to stick colţarii and pioleţii on top of the highest volcano in the world, Ojos del Salado (6893 m), thus becoming the first Romanian, and the youngest climber in the world that has reached this peak. Teenage performance took place on 28 December 2008 in a shipment of Râşnov. Although he left the camp in 5800 advanced meters with two Romanian climbers, and Daniela Radu Teodorescu Theodore, Coco was forced to conclude a single route, following the abandonment of the two.
